In a ball valve, the ball is coated with 3mm Inconel 625 coation and 120 micron tungsten carbide coating over the inconel 625 coating and seat insert material is devlon. One of valve manufacturers said that the life of soft seat material (devlon) will shorten if it is used with a ball with inconel and tc coating. Could any one explain in detail with metalogical basis.
