i have etched 6Mo s31254 stainless steel using 10%oxalic acid.The microstructure is revealed but you see some black spots which are not there in as polished condition.they are like throughout the weld section (seam weld).Are they like some detrimental intermetallics.same specimen i tried etching with glycerigia and the reult turned out tbe the same.
P.s we have done some mechnaical test on them and the results are all okay.
